  17. JShifter for DOS, FreeWare version 1.4

  19. Concept:  Without JShifter OS/2 will always start new DOS sessions
  20. --------  (both windowed and full screen) with the Num, Caps and 
  21.           Scroll Locks OFF. JShifter allows the user to shift the state
  22.           of any (or all) of those locks to ON, in all DOS sessions.

  28. Concept:  Without JShifter/2 OS/2 will always boot up with the Num Lock
  29. --------  OFF. JShifter/2 causes OS/2 to boot with the Num Lock shifted to ON.

  57. Install JShifter for DOS:
  58. -------------------------

  60.          Run the program INSTALL.EXE. You will be asked to provide a 
  61.          source and target directory; asked to select between 
  62.          installation of the Danish or English version; and asked to
  63.          choose to allow the program to edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT, or
  64.          not.
  65.  
  66.          If you allow editing, INSTALL will make a backup of your
  67.          original AUTOEXEC.BAT naming it AUTOEXEC.JSH; it will 
  68.          add your target directory to the original path; and it will  
  69.          add a command so JShifter is run automatically each time a
  70.          DOS session is started.

  72.          If you choose not to let INSTALL change your AUTOEXEC.BAT
  73.          you must edit it yourself. To have JShifter load every  
  74.          DOS session: Add the executable's full path and file name
  75.          anywhere in the DOS batch file.

  81.          which you specified to the install program as the 'target'

  98. Install JShifter/2 for OS/2:

  101.          Run the program JINSTAL.EXE which places JSHIFT2.EXE in the 
  102.          OS/2 startup folder. Shut down and reboot.

  106. Usage:   Upon reboot JShifter/2 will automatically turn ON the
  107. ------   Num Lock. And, when you open a DOS session, JShifter will
  108.          display an information screen while it initializes. Then,
  109.          by default, the Num Lock will be ON and both the Caps and
  110.          Scroll Lock will be OFF in the active DOS session.
  111.  
  112.          If, in any particular DOS session, you want the state of
  113.          any of the locks to be other than the default: Press the F10
  114.          key while the info screen is in view. The setup screen 
  115.          can then be used to switch the state of any of the locks. 
  116.  
  117.          After setting the switches, press F2 to save the new 
  118.          settings.
  119.  
  120.          Settings remain in effect until reset via the setup screen.
  121.          If, while in set up you wish to keep the old settings: Press
  122.          the ESC key instead of the F2 key.

  124.      If you start JShifter/2 in an OS/2 fullscreen session, numlock
  125.      will be turned off when you close the session.
